German Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich is returning to Korea once again.
Munich, which includes national team defender Kim Min-jae, will play a friendly against K League 1 side Jeju SK FC this summer on Jeju Island.
Jeju club announced on the 10th that "Bayern Munich will open the curtain for the global preseason tour 'Audi Football Tour' in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province this August."
This tour is part of Bayern Munich's 'Audi Football Tour 2026' schedule, which runs from Aug. 1 to 8. The Munich squad will visit Jeju and Hong Kong in succession.
The most eye-catching date is Aug. 4. Munich will face Jeju SK at Jeju World Cup Stadium. Munich will then travel to Hong Kong and collide with English Premier League side Aston Villa at Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium on Aug. 7.
This visit is Munich's second trip to Jeju. Munich previously played a friendly against Tottenham Hotspur at Seoul World Cup Stadium in 2024, winning 2-1. It drew attention as the first big-club matchup between national team players Son Heung-min and Kim Min-jae.
In particular, there is a high possibility that world-class players such as Kim Min-jae and Harry Kane will participate in this tour. For Jeju fans, it is expected to be a true "world-class showcase."
Munich has already expanded its touchpoints with Asian fans by conducting global tours in major cities around the world such as New York in the United States, Shanghai in China, Bangkok in Thailand and Seoul. It also operates an official office in Seoul and has been continuously expanding the market in Korea.
Jeju SK has also collaborated with Munich for this matchup and participated in global projects as a 'Red and Gold Football' partner club.
Ruben Kasper, a member of Munich's marketing and sales board, said, "I am pleased to meet Asian fans again through the 10th Audi Summer Tour," and noted, "this tour will be an opportunity to expand consolidation with fans around the world."
This Jeju match, which pits a world-class club against a K League team, is expected to be a special summer event for Korean soccer fans beyond a simple friendly match.
