Pascal Chimbonda (47), a former Tottenham Hotspur player, could not hold back a rebuke after seeing his former club continue to plummet.
Tottenham fan community Spurs Update on the 24th (Korea time) said, "Chimbonda wrote the following on Instagram," and relayed the contents of Chimbonda's comments left on Tottenham social media after the heavy defeat to Nottingham Forest.
According to the outlet, Chimbonda shouted, "What on earth is happening at my club? I don't know if the players fully understand the seriousness of the situation. If it's for the result of each match, they should even eat the turf. We cannot be relegated like this. I don't see any fighting spirit from the players."
Tottenham fans felt the same. Fans who saw Chimbonda's remarks agreed, leaving comments such as, "The players who want to leave aren't even trying. It seems they want relegation to make transfers easier in the summer," and, "He gave everything. He knew."
There were also comments missing Son Heung-min. One fan argued that club legends are needed, saying, "Maybe the club should call past players. Glenn Hoddle, Teddy Sheringham, Ledley King, even players like Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. They should tell the current players what this team means and what it still represents."
That shows how endlessly Tottenham is falling. Tottenham suffered a 0-3 rout to Nottingham on the 22nd at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London in the 2025-2026 Premier League 31st round.
Tottenham, collapse helplessly at home, remained on 30 points (7 wins, 9 draws, 15 losses) and fell to 17th place. They are just one point behind 18th-place West Ham United (29 points). Meanwhile, Nottingham jumped to 16th with 32 points.
Although Tottenham suffered some bad luck with the goalframe, overall their performance was poor. Igor Tudor's substitution choices were nearly the worst. It was such a helpless defeat that even Tottenham fans left the stadium before the final whistle.
It was a six-point match they had to win to keep survival hopes alive. But Tottenham played their worst game and extended their Premier League winless run to 13 games. Their recent 13-match record is 0 wins, 5 draws, 8 losses. That is the club's second-longest winless run in the first division.
They could not avoid the humiliation of the club's lowest points total in history. Tottenham has earned only 30 points from 31 league matches this season. According to football statistics outlet Opta, this ties the club's lowest points total since the 1914-1915 season, when World War I broke out.
Tottenham is the only team in the Premier League without a win since the start of 2026. ESPN warned, "This is a bad omen. Since the year began, only three teams have posted longer winless runs: Derby County in 2007-08 (18 matches), Sunderland in 2002-03 (17 matches), and Middlesbrough in 2016-17 (14 matches), and all of them were relegated."
That's why Chimbonda could not hide his anger publicly. He is a French defender who joined Tottenham in 2006 and competed with Lee Young-pyo for the left-back spot. He was a regular for two seasons, then moved to Sunderland, later returned and spent another half year. Although his time playing for Tottenham wasn't very long, his affection for the team still seems strong.
