Doosan Bears of professional baseball defeated Hanwha Eagles in a comeback victory to earn a two-game winning streak in the exhibition games.
Doosan, managed by Kim Won-hyung, defeated Hanwha 8-4 in the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League exhibition game against Hanwha held on the 16th at Daejeon Hanwha Life Insurance Ballpark. Doosan, which had beaten the Samsung Lions in Icheon the previous day, achieved a two-game winning streak, bringing its exhibition record to 4-1. Hanwha marked 2-3.
On the day Hanwha set its starting lineup in order as Oh Jae-won (center field), Peraza (right field), Kang Baek-ho (designated hitter), Chae Eun-seong (first base), Son Ah-seop (left field), Ha Ju-suk (second base), Lee Do-yoon (third base), Heo In-seo (catcher) and Shim Woo-jun (shortstop). Wilkel Hernandez started as the starting pitcher.
In response, Doosan started Choi Min-seok as the starting pitcher, and the starting lineup appeared in order as Park Chan-ho (shortstop), Jeong Su-bin (center field), Cameron (right field), Yang Eui-ji (catcher), Kim In-tae (designated hitter), Yang Seok-hwan (first base), Park Ji-hoon (third base), Kim Joo-o (left field) and Lee Yoo-chan (second base).
Hanwha took the early lead. In the bottom of the second, Son Ah-seop and Ha Ju-suk hit consecutive doubles to quickly score the first run. In the bottom of the third, with one out, Yonathan Peraza hit a single to left, and after Kang Baek-ho's double put runners at second and third, Son Ah-seop's RBI double made it 3-0 and widened the lead.
After Choi Min-seok left and Choi Won-joon came in, in the bottom of the fifth Hanwha's leadoff batter Oh Jae-won popped out to right field, but Peraza reached with a two-base single to right, and after Kang Baek-ho struck out, Chae Eun-seong's RBI single brought pinch-runner Kim Tae-yean home, adding one more run.
Doosan, who had been trailing, chased after one swing by taking advantage of a Hanwha error. In the top of the sixth, when Hanwha's regulars were largely replaced and Hernandez left while Lee Min-woo came on, Jeong Su-bin reached with a center-field single and successfully stole a base. Then with Cameron at bat a third-base throw error allowed a runner to reach, and immediately Yang Eui-ji targeted Lee Min-woo's 140 km/h two-seam and hit a three-run homer, making it 3-4 and cutting the gap to one run for Doosan.
The bases emptied by Yang Eui-ji's home run were refilled when catcher error allowed Kim In-tae to reach, and Yang Seok-hwan walked on a four-pitch walk. After the pitcher changed to Lee Sang-kyu and Park Ji-hoon popped out to left and Kim Joo-o struck out swinging, Lee Yoo-chan again walked to reach base, bringing the bases loaded. Lee Sang-kyu escaped further damage by getting Park Jun-soon to pop out to right field.
Doosan, which had succeeded in the comeback, piled up four runs in the top of the eighth to turn the score. Against Park Sang-won, An Jae-seok hit the first pitch and drove a double that struck the top of the monster wall, and after an eight-pitch battle Kang Seung-ho hit a triple to bring in An Jae-seok, tying it 4-4. Kang Seung-ho scored on Park Ji-hoon's double to make it a 5-4 comeback.
Afterwards Kim Joo-o struck out swinging, but Lee Yoo-chan's center-field single produced another run, and when Park Sang-won left and Hwang Jun-seo came in and also allowed Park Jun-soon a double, Lee Yoo-chan scored. The score became 7-4.
In the top of the ninth, Doosan again created a bases-loaded chance with two outs against closer Kim Seo-hyeon on a walk by Kim Ki-yeon, An Jae-seok's double and Park Ji-hoon's walk, and added one more run on a balk to extend the lead to 8-4. Hanwha failed to score in the bottom of the ninth and the game ended.
Doosan's starter Choi Min-seok allowed three runs in four innings before leaving, and Choi Won-joon gave up one run in one inning, then Lee Yong-chan, Park Shin-ji, Choi Ji-gang and Tamura Ichiro held the back end scoreless. In the batting lineup Yang Eui-ji stood out with a home run among two hits and three RBIs, while Jeong Su-bin and An Jae-seok each had two hits and one run.
Hanwha's starter Wilkel Hernandez pitched five scoreless innings, Son Ah-seop had two hits and two RBIs, and Peraza had two hits, one walk and one run, but the bullpen did not look good, and even the backup position players committed consecutive errors and self-destructed.
