The Daegu Metropolitan City Sports Association for the Disabled (acting chairman Lee Dae-young) held a ceremony at 10 a.m. on the 9th at the National Sports Center for the Disabled to present the Minister's commendation from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to those who contributed to the successful hosting of the National Sports Festival for the Disabled (student·summer).
This commendation was given to individuals who contributed to the hosting of the 2024 games.
For contributions to the 18th National Sports Festival for Disabled Students, Lee Tae-heon, chief of the elite sports team at the Daegu Metropolitan City Sports Association for the Disabled, was selected. Chief Lee received the Minister's commendation from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in recognition of his efforts to expand disabled students' participation in sports, revitalize student athletics, and support the smooth operation of the games.
Also, for contributions to the 44th National Sports Festival for the Disabled, Jeon Gyeong-sik, president (current president of the Daegu Disabled Basketball Association), was named. President Jeon was recognized for his dedicated service in supporting teams and advancing disabled sports while serving as the head of the 11th Disabled Sports Association support corps.
Hong Jun-hak, secretary-general of the Daegu Metropolitan City Sports Association for the Disabled, said, "I sincerely congratulate the officials who supported disabled students' smooth participation in the games and greatly contributed to improving performance, and President Jeon Gyeong-sik on receiving this meaningful commendation for supporting athletes in every way for the development of disabled sports."
