LA Galaxy will continue its partnership with Marco Reus (37).
LA Galaxy announced on the 1st (Korea time) that it extended Reus' contract through December 2027.
Born in 1989 and 36 years old, Reus joined the team in August 2025. Since then, he played 42 matches and recorded 22 attacking points, serving a central role. The club said Reus made a key contribution in the 2024 MLS Cup championship run.
His presence continued into the early 2026 season. He wore the captain's armband in two of the three matches after the season opener, and in the team's first scoring play of the season he recorded an assist just 2 minutes into the first half.
Director General Will Koontz said, "Reus is a player who brings a high level of skill, experience and leadership to the team. His professional attitude has a positive influence on his teammates."
Reus was an iconic player on the German stage. At Borussia Dortmund he played 429 matches with 170 goals and 131 assists, and at Borussia Mönchengladbach he left 109 matches with 69 attacking points.
In the Bundesliga he was named VDV player of the year three times and was also chosen German player of the year twice. With Dortmund he experienced three German Supercup victories and two DFB-Pokal wins.
Having built his career in Europe, Reus has also established himself as a team centerpiece in the United States. The Galaxy will continue to carry experience and leadership through the re-signing of the veteran.
