Lee Kang-in, returning from injury, once again set Parc des Princes alight. With a refreshing goal in only his second match back, he completed Paris Saint-Germain's big victory.
Lee Kang-in shook the net with a left-footed shot in the 29th minute of the second half during the home match against Marseille in the 21st round of the 2025-26 Ligue 1 season at Parc des Princes in Paris, France, on the 9th (Korean time).
Lee Kang-in started the match on the bench. He was brought on in the 23rd minute of the second half to replace Bradley Barcola, and he proved his presence just six minutes after stepping onto the pitch. After receiving a pass from Seyi Mavulu, he easily beat one defender inside the penalty area, and his ensuing left-footed shot was sucked into the corner of the goal.
This goal was his second league goal of the season, his first since the Le Havre match on Nov. 23 last year. At the same time, it was a meaningful goal that came in his second match after returning from injury.
Lee Kang-in injured his left thigh in the final of the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup against Flamengo in December last year and underwent more than a month of rehabilitation. After a long absence, he returned through the Strasbourg match on the 2nd and warmed up by playing a key role in the buildup to the winning goal in the 36th minute of the second half.
The momentum continued against Marseille. Even after scoring, he actively participated in the attack and created threatening scenes. In the 41st minute of the second half he delivered an accurate cross from the left flank seeking an additional goal, but Gonçalo Ramos's header shot missed the goal narrowly and did not result in an assist.
The match was one-sided. Paris Saint-Germain recorded a 5-0 rout over Marseille. In the 12th and 37th minutes of the first half, Ousmane Dembélé scored consecutive goals to lift the mood.
PSG's attack did not stop in the second half. In the 19th minute of the second half, Facundo Medina recorded an own goal while blocking João Neves's pass, and two minutes later Khvicha Kvaratskhelia added a goal with a right-footed volley. And Lee Kang-in's goal put the final punctuation on the big win.
With this victory, PSG ran its league winning streak to seven, recording 16 wins, three draws and two losses for 51 points. They reclaimed first place from RC Lens. Meanwhile, Marseille remained fourth with 39 points.
Concerns about the gap caused by injury are no longer visible. Lee Kang-in left a definite impact despite limited minutes, raising expectations for the latter part of the season.
