Antoine Semenyo (25, Bournemouth) is set to transfer to Manchester City (Man City).
BBC reported on the 7th (Korea time) that "Antoine Semenyo is due to undergo a medical at Man City. The transfer is expected to be completed before Saturday."
According to the outlet, Man City has agreed to pay Semenyo's buyout fee of 65 million pounds (about 127.1 billion won). The clause must be activated by Jan. 10.
Semenyo is Bournemouth's starting winger. He is scheduled to undergo Man City's medical after the match against Tottenham Hotspur on the 8th.
Several clubs showed interest in signing Semenyo, but Man City became the final winner.
BBC said "five clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham, were monitoring Semenyo. But Man City was the only club to make official contact with Bournemouth."
Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola made a significant remark ahead of the Tottenham match.
He told the BBC, "This match could be Semenyo's last playing for Bournemouth," but quickly added, "That is just a personal opinion. Nothing has been agreed or signed yet." It appears to hint at his transfer.
Semenyo has 9 goals and 3 assists in official matches this season. He has played a central role in Bournemouth's attack. He also continues to represent the Ghana national team.
Man City is accelerating the reinforcement of attacking resources in preparation for the 2025-2026 season. If Semenyo joins, the options for wide attack are expected to become more varied.
