KB Insurance's Shin Seung-hoon, who has just been discharged from the military sports unit, is leaving on loan to Taiwan.
KB Insurance Stars volleyball team said that Shin Seung-hoon will be loaned to East Power Volleyball Team of the Taiwan professional volleyball league (hereinafter the "TPVL league") for about five months from Jan. 2026 through June. Shin Seung-hoon departed for Taiwan through Incheon Airport on the 1st.
Shin Seung-hoon, who was discharged from the military sports unit last Nov., has a high contact point on his tosses and sharp serves based on excellent physical attributes of 195 cm. KB volleyball team decided on this overseas loan to maximize the player's strengths and develop his in-game management skills so he can grow into a key resource for the team in the next season.
In particular, the club judged that practical experience coordinating various game situations is essential given the setter position, and Shin Seung-hoon's performance when he participated as a member of the military sports unit in the WINS Tric International Volleyball Invitational held in Taiwan last May also helped lead to this loan. A Taiwan league official who noticed Shin Seung-hoon's outstanding physical attributes and game management skills at that time showed interest, and KB volleyball team also judged it to be the optimal opportunity for the player's development, so the overseas loan was decided through consultations between both sides.
A KB volleyball team official said the loan was decided to build stable setter depth following Lee Hyun-seung's enlistment in the military sports unit in 2026, and added that they expect Shin Seung-hoon's game management skills to grow through practical experience and that they will help him complete the Taiwan league safely and return to the team.
On the eve of his move to Taiwan, Shin Seung-hoon said he is sincerely grateful to the club for giving him the opportunity for his growth, and added that though the environment is unfamiliar he will adapt quickly, grow one step further and become a player who can contribute to KB volleyball team's victories in the next season.
