The owner of the striking red Tesla Cybertruck that drew attention in the Incheon area has been confirmed as SSG Landers' ace pitcher Kim Kwang-hyun.
A window-tinting shop in Songdo, Incheon, recently announced on its official social media that it worked on Kim Kwang-hyun's vehicle, introducing it as the only "red Cybertruck" in Korea with an exterior changed to the Landers' signature color. The shop said Kim, out of affection for the team, had the vehicle wrapped and tinted to maximize the Landers look.
The Cybertruck is Tesla's large electric pickup truck featuring a stainless-steel exoskeleton with a futuristic design and bullet-resistant performance. Using materials employed in spacecraft and outfitted with "Armor Glass" to enhance safety, it offers a distinctive triangular silhouette that sets it apart from conventional trucks.
The price of the vehicle ranges from about 83.56 million won to 136.96 million won, depending on the model. Before its official release in Korea, G-Dragon rode one to the airport, drawing major attention, and later singer Kim Junsu was noted for registering the first official license plate in Korea.
Since his SK Wyverns days in 2007, Kim Kwang-hyun has been the Landers' signature pitcher and a top-tier player who holds the KBO record for most wins by a left-hander. His choice of a uniquely designed vehicle is drawing buzz among fans, befitting a glittering career that includes five Korean Series championships and an MVP award.
Kim Kwang-hyun, a high-earning player who recorded a 3 billion won salary last year, is known for dedicated fan service and deep love for his team. This Cybertruck, clad in team colors, again showcased pride in his club while offering the local community and fans something different to see.
