MLB.com selected the best game for each team in Major League Baseball in 2025.
MLB.com reviewed each team's best game on the 24th (Korean time). First, for the Toronto Blue Jays, who reached the 2025 World Series stage but failed to win the championship, it picked Game 7 of the American League Championship Series as their best game.
Toronto recorded a 94-68 record, the same as the New York Yankees, with a .580 winning percentage in the American League East. After advancing via the wild card, they defeated the Yankees in the division series and advanced to the championship series. They beat the Yankees in the series, 3 games to 1.
Toronto met the Seattle Mariners in the championship series. They lost Game 1 on Oct. 13, 1-3, and lost Game 2 on Oct. 14, 3-10. They dropped both Games 1 and 2 at their Canadian home, Rogers Centre.
They succeeded in mounting a comeback on the road in Seattle. On the first day of the Seattle road series at T-Mobile Park, Toronto won 13-4. They also won Game 4, 8-2.
They lost Game 5, 2-6. Pushed to the brink, Toronto finally toppled Seattle back at the returning Rogers Centre. They evened the series with a 6-2 win in Game 6 and clinched the World Series ticket with a 4-3 victory in Game 7.
Through the sixth inning, Toronto trailed 1-3. In the bottom of the seventh, leadoff hitter Addison Barger drew a walk and Cionel Pérez hit a single. With a sacrifice bunt by Andrés Jiménez, Toronto had runners at second and third with one out. George Springer hit a three-run homer to flip the game. Ultimately, Toronto was able to meet the Dodgers on the World Series stage with Springer's thrilling home run.
Reporter Keegan Matheson recalled, "Although Toronto failed to win the final championship in the World Series, their journey captivated baseball fans across the United States and created many new fans. Looking back years from now, the brightest moment will likely be the victory in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series against Seattle. George Springer's three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh will remain one of the greatest moments in franchise history," he said.
