Seoul E-Land Group FC officially announced the simultaneous contract renewals of 'K League living legend' Kim O-gyu and Osmar.
Kim O-gyu (434 appearances) and Osmar (350 appearances) are veteran defenders who have appeared in a combined 784 K League matches.
Having joined Seoul E-Land Group together in 2024 and serving as key pillars of the defense, the two players will once again challenge promotion to K League 1 together next year through this contract renewal.
Kim O-gyu and Osmar each made consistent contributions this season, appearing in 38 matches (Kim O-gyu) and 37 matches (Osmar), respectively. Beyond performance, they solidified their presence as "leaders on and off the field," earning the absolute trust of the squad through exemplary conduct and leadership.
Kim O-gyu's value is proven by the records. Selected first overall in the 2011 K League rookie draft, Kim O-gyu joined Gangwon, moved to Jeju among others, and joined Seoul E-Land Group in 2024. In March this year he reached the milestone of 400 K League career appearances.
Kim O-gyu's 434 appearances rank 19th in K League history. It is the result of thorough self-management, consistently playing about 100 matches every three years.
This year he served as captain, uniting the squad, and despite being the oldest, he showed dedication by recording the most playing time on the team.
Osmar is also a living legend representing the K League. After joining FC Seoul in 2014, Osmar has played continuously in the K League except for 2018 when he was loaned to Japan's Cerezo Osaka.
Last year he transferred to Seoul E-Land Group and scored a personal single-season high with 8 goals in 31 matches, earning a spot on the K League 2 best eleven.
This season he again proved his consistent class with experienced game management and precise passing, recording 37 matches, 3 goals and 1 assist.
Osmar, who has appeared in 350 league matches to date, ranks second among all foreign players in career appearances, following Dejan (380 matches, 2007–2020).
Kim O-gyu and Osmar are more than just teammates. Based on deep trust built over two years, the two players, who have become solid pillars for each other, will join forces again next year to pursue promotion.
Kim O-gyu said, "I was very disappointed not to achieve promotion over two seasons, so I am grateful for the opportunity to challenge again. Osmar is always a reliable teammate and a great motivator. Thanks to Osmar's advice after the final game of the season, I pulled myself together and was able to quickly begin preparing for next year. I am excited to pursue our goal together. Next year's goal is to win no matter what."
Osmar also said, "I am even more grateful to be able to play alongside such an excellent partner as Kim O-gyu. We joined the team in similar circumstances, created good synergy and are special to each other. The transfer to Seoul E-Land Group was the right choice, and next year we will fight together to help the team achieve promotion."
