Lotte Giants, together with LOTTE Corporation and Lotte GRS, successfully opened the "Dream Cafe" for people with developmental disabilities.
"Dream Cafe" is a corporate social responsibility program to raise awareness of people with developmental disabilities in the local community and support their dreams, and this year's events were held at Sajik Baseball Stadium "Giants Cafe" as well as Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (Yeonsan branch), Lotteria (Busan Dangam branch), and Angel-in-us (Lotte Department Store Seomyeon main branch).
The players participated directly in running the stores to communicate with fans and worked alongside baristas with developmental disabilities, adding meaning. Player Jeon Jun-woo said, "Dream Cafe is a meaningful program for the team," and added, "I was happy to be on site and feel the atmosphere of mutual support, and I hope this kind of event continues regularly."
Player Han Tae-yang also said, "I felt even more rewarded because Dream Cafe is an event with social value," and added, "I am glad to have participated in a meaningful activity on behalf of the team."
The club is expanding various social contribution activities like this to repay the support of fans and the local community. It practices social value in many ways, including support for people with developmental disabilities, sponsorship for young people preparing for independence, and educational and physical education programs for local students, and strengthened cooperation with the community through kimchi sharing, donations to youth independence support centers, and local school physical education support programs.
In addition, including UNICEF sponsorship, Aram Books children's books, Korean Air airline tickets, and a social contribution agreement with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Kori headquarters, the club made social contribution donations totaling 900 million won.
