Paju Frontier FC successfully held a K League 2 readiness briefing for citizens at Paju NFC on the 24th.
Attendees included club owner Kim Gyeong-il, chairman Kim Jeong-yeol, Director General Hwang Bo-gwan, Korea Football Association vice chairman Lee Yong-su, Korea Football Association Football Love Sharing Foundation chairman Kim Ho-gon, Korea Professional Football League (KPFL) vice chairman Han Ung-su, Paju City Sports Council chairman Kim Jong-hoon, and head coach Gerard Nuss, among other key figures, and more than 150 citizens filled the venue.
Through the briefing, the club shared its future operational direction and the club philosophy Paju Frontier FC aims for, and notably officially unveiled a new emblem, drawing strong responses from citizens and football officials.
The first order of the briefing was an award ceremony for the club name selected through a public contest. For proposing 'Paju Frontier FC' as the first-place entry, Ms. Oh Ji-yeon received a 65-inch OLED TV, and for proposing 'Paju FC' as the second-place entry, Ms. Shin Mina received the latest iPhone 17, adding meaning to the citizen-participatory club operation.
The highlight of the main event was undoubtedly the unveiling of the new emblem. When club owner Kim Gyeong-il personally took the stage to reveal the new emblem, the crowd's cheers and applause filled the venue, bringing the atmosphere to a climax. The new emblem was inspired by the cosmos, a symbol of Paju, and embodied the "frontier spirit" of the club expanding beyond the region to the K League and the world.
Using Paju Frontier blue and cosmos pink as the main colors to emphasize youthful and vibrant energy, the club placed the initials 'P' for Paju and 'F' for Frontier on a V-shaped shield symbolizing the will to win, clearly expressing the club's identity. The founding year 2012 was placed at the top center of the emblem to carry on the spirit of Paju citizens who sought unity through football, and 20 cosmos flowers on the right represent Paju's administrative districts. The blue and pink stripes express harmony with Paju citizens and, more broadly, Korea and the world, and at the bottom of the emblem a dove symbolizing peace was added flying toward the fans.
Following the emblem unveiling, Director General Hwang Bo-gwan directly explained Paju Frontier FC's operational direction to citizens and received an enthusiastic response. Director General Hwang presented three core values—pioneer spirit, challenging spirit, and future innovation—and expressed his determination to build a new football model with a platform structure based on the innovativeness of the young city of Paju. He emphasized that he would enjoy fearless challenges with fans and build a football culture with global competitiveness that exchanges with the world beyond Paju City and Korea.
Vice Director Jeong Ui-seok explained plans to utilize Paju NFC assets, announcing that Paju Frontier FC will create a space where not only citizens but fans nationwide can communicate through football based on strengths that distinguish it from other clubs. He introduced plans to reorganize Paju NFC into a fan-participatory football platform centered on experiential, viewing, and educational programs, presenting a vision to establish a sustainable growth structure for the club.
Various agreements were also signed at the event to strengthen the club's professionalism and growth foundation. Paju Frontier FC signed separate agreements with the Korean Society of Football Science and the Korea Football Physical Coaches Association to share the knowledge and capabilities of the two organizations with the club for mutual development, and also signed an official sponsorship contract with global sports brand Kelme for 2026.
The final order of the event proceeded to a Q&A session and a fan autograph session with head coach Gerard Nuss. The lively participation of citizens created such a heated atmosphere that the scheduled time was exceeded, and it concluded as a meaningful time for the club and citizens to communicate together.
Club owner Kim Gyeong-il said, "I believe today's briefing is not simply a place to announce the club's founding process, but a meaningful occasion to start the journey of Paju Frontier FC together with citizens," and added, "Through the young football club Paju Frontier FC, I hope the city and the club will grow each other and create new possibilities."
Director General Hwang Bo-gwan said, "We will build a competitive club that exchanges with the world beyond Paju City and Korea, and present a new model of the football industry through innovative operations."
