Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden (25) has come under scrutiny for his luxury car worth £400,000 (about 750 million won). The problem was not the flashy vehicle but the 'messy' parking.
The British publication The Sun reported on the 16th (Korea time) that "Phil Foden parked his Mercedes G-Class across two spaces at a supermarket parking lot located in Cheshire recently. The car drew the attention of fans, but his parking skills did not."
A local witness told the media in an interview, "Foden's car is like a work of art, but his parking deserves to be sent off."
He continued, "Perhaps he took up two spaces on purpose to avoid being scratched by other vehicles, but if that's the case, it would be better to just leave it in his home garage and admire it from there."
The Sun noted, "Foden only obtained his driver's license in December of last year, but he already boasts a luxurious car collection, which reportedly includes a Mercedes S-Class, an AMG GLE 53, a Toyota Vellfire, and an electric BYD Seal."
Meanwhile, Foden struggled significantly last season, scoring only 7 goals in 28 league matches and recording 3 goals in the Champions League. He did not score a single goal in the FA Cup or EFL Cup.
Foden is likely to miss the Premier League opener against Wolverhampton this weekend due to injury. The Sun reported, "His agent has not released a separate statement regarding this controversy."
