Shin Jin-Seo, 9th dan, who dominated the two tournaments held in July, has maintained her dominant first-place position.
On the 5th, Shin Jin-Seo secured her top position with a total of 10,418 points, as announced in the August rankings by the Korea Baduk Association. Throughout July, she achieved seven consecutive victories, adding 47 ranking points.
Shin Jin-Seo lifted the winner's trophy consecutively by defeating Park Jeong-Hwan, 9th dan, in the finals of the 2025 Hana Bank Baduk Super Match, and An Sung-Jun, 9th dan, in the finals of the 30th GS Caltex Cup. Shin Jin-Seo has held onto the first-place position for 68 consecutive months since January 2020.
Following Shin Jin-Seo, Park Jeong-Hwan (2nd), Kang Dong-Yoon (3rd), and Shin Min-Jun, 9th dan (4th) maintained their positions, while Lee Ji-Hyun, 9th dan, surged two spots to re-enter the top five.
An Sung-Jun, 9th dan, fell one spot and dropped out of the top five, while Kim Myung-Hoon, 9th dan, selected as the Korean representative for the National Baduk Mountains International Baduk Tournament, leaped six spots to 7th place. Following them were Byeon Sang-Il (8th), Won Sung-Jin (9th), and Seol Hyun-Jun (10th), who stayed within the top 10.
In the women's player rankings, Kim Eun-Ji, 9th dan, regained the top position (30th overall) after three months, surpassing Choi Jeong, who fell to 33rd overall and 2nd in the women's division. Following them were Oh Yu-Jin (76th) and Sumire (96th). A total of four female players have made it into the overall top 100.
Meanwhile, Park Jin-Young added 144 points in July alone, soaring 34 ranks to 54th place, recording the largest increase among all players.
The Korea player rankings, which had been announcing rankings up to 100 since January 2009, restructured the ranking system in February 2020, and since August 2022, has been publicly ranking all professional players.
