KBL announced the schedule for the 2025-2026 professional basketball season, which will begin on Oct. 3 and end on April 8, 2026.
The regular season will feature a total of 270 games, with each team playing 54 games. Games are scheduled for one on weekdays and three on weekends, totaling 11 games per week. Compared to last season, the number of games per week has decreased from 13 to 11, increasing the gap between game days for clubs and moving the opening day forward by about two weeks. Game times are 7 p.m. on weekdays, and 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekends.
The official opening game of the 2025-2026 season will take place on Oct. 3 at 2 p.m. at Changwon Gymnasium, featuring a championship rematch between Changwon LG and Seoul SK. On the same day at 2 p.m., Seoul Samsung will face Busan KCC at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium, and at 4:30 p.m. at Ulsan Dongcheon Gymnasium, Ulsan Hyundai Mobis will play Wonju DB in the first game.
The 'Basketball New Year' event, welcoming the new year on the basketball court, will be held at Busan Sajik Gymnasium. On Dec. 31 at 10 p.m., Busan KCC will face Wonju DB. The two teams previously met during the Basketball New Year event three years ago in the 2022-2023 season, where the home team, DB, defeated KCC 102-90.
Meanwhile, starting this season, the KBL Cup tournament will be abolished and exhibition games will be introduced. Known as 'OPEN MATCH DAY,' two games will be played by each team ahead of the 2025-2026 season. This will take place over two weekends starting from Sept. 20.
