Global sports brand "Under Armour" will host the performance test platform "UA NEXT COMBINE," based on the core physical 6 elements of sports, in line with its brand value that helps growth through optimal performance, at the Pi Factory in Gwangjin-gu from May 23 to 25.
"UA NEXT COMBINE" is designed to measure performance, compete, and awaken potential based on the 6 key elements that are fundamental to all sports, under the slogan "BE NEXT: UA NEXT COMBINE." Additionally, this "UA NEXT COMBINE" has incorporated the concept of a hexagonal human, applying it to 6 measurement events, hexagonal graphs of measurement results, team configurations of 6 people, and the design concept of the competition venue.
Launched in 2021 with 1,200 participants from a total of 4 countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Australia, "UA COMBINE" of Under Armour combines with the global program "UA NEXT," which supports elite and amateur athletes with the highest potential in various ways to grow to a better level through Under Armour, marking its first event of this new form in Korea.
"UA NEXT COMBINE" will measure and compete performance primarily based on 6 key physical elements: ▲speed ▲power ▲agility ▲endurance ▲reaction time ▲jumping ability, with 780 individuals competing in the individual competition and 120 teams (720 people) in team races. A total of 1,500 participants can join. The top 6 men, 6 women, and 6 teams will receive a total prize pool of 50 million won and benefits.
In the individual competition, 1,500 participants will measure their performance through personal tests consisting of 9 events based on 6 key elements: speed, power, agility, endurance, reaction time, and jumping ability (20M sprint running, 20M sled push, hand grip, node board, 5-10-5 run, VIB test, reaction intelligence, and Sergeant jump). In particular, the system for assessing athletic ability utilized in various fields, from professional teams around the world to individual sports and Olympic sports, will be used to measure participants' athletic abilities and physical fitness elements more professionally, providing player cards with measurement results in hexagonal graphs.
In the team competition, 120 teams composed of 6 members, 4 men and 2 women, will compete in tests based on the 6 elements of endurance, jumping ability, power, agility, reaction time, and speed, consisting of 6 events: 6-person relay run, burpee box jump, pull-up, reaction intelligence, warm to shoulder lift, and sprint. In each event, either 2 people or the entire team participates, and the team that completes the 6 tasks in order the fastest wins. Each team will have 2 opportunities in the preliminary round, and the top 54 teams will advance to the finals where the final 6 teams will compete.
Anyone aged 16 and over can participate in "UA NEXT COMBINE," which opens for registration on a first-come, first-served basis starting April 24 through the official Under Armour website. Participants can register for individual and team competitions. The registration fee is 50,000 won for the individual competition and 100,000 won (per person) for the team competition. Team competition applicants can also participate in the individual competition. All those registered for the individual competition of "UA NEXT COMBINE" will receive Under Armour products (tops/bottoms) worth 150,000 won and other giveaways, while team participants will receive Under Armour products (tops/bottoms, shoes, socks) worth 350,000 won and other giveaways.
More detailed information about "UA NEXT COMBINE," including the rulebook and tutorial videos, will be released sequentially on the official Under Armour website and social media starting April 9.
