Chungbuk Cheongju successfully broke its losing streak against Seoul E-Land, which is competing for the top spot in K League 2.
Chungbuk Cheongju won 2-0 in an away match against Seoul E-Land on the 19th at Mokdong Stadium.
This victory allowed Chungbuk Cheongju to escape a four-game losing streak and continue its quest for mid-table progress. On the other hand, Seoul E-Land suffered its first defeat at home this season.
Seoul E-Land took to the field in a 4-4-2 formation. Baek Ji-woong and Aideil formed a two-top attacking line, while Jo Sang-jun, Park Chang-hwan, Seo Jae-min, and Eul-reur were positioned in the midfield, and the four-back defense consisted of Cha Seung-hyun, Osmar, Kim O-kyu, and Bae Jin-woo.
Chungbuk Cheongju faced Seoul E-Land in a 3-5-2 formation. Kim Byeong-o and Pedro formed a two-top attacking line, while Seo Jae-won and Kim Young-hwan occupied the second line. In the midfield, Lee Kang-han, Kim Seon-min, and Yeo Seung-won were positioned, and the three-back defense consisted of Hong Jun-ho, Jeon Hyun-byeong, and Lee Chang-hoon.
Seoul E-Land, which had been on an unbeaten streak at home this season, applied strong pressure to score the opening goal. However, Chungbuk Cheongju struck first. Amid a scramble near the goal, a defensive foul by Seoul E-Land resulted in a penalty kick for Chungbuk Cheongju. After a VAR review by the referee, Chungbuk Cheongju capitalized on the precious opportunity, with foreign player Pedro calmly scoring in the 23rd minute, putting them ahead 1-0.
Seoul E-Land moved vigorously to turn the tide but struggled to break through the opponent's goal.
Needing to counterattack, Seoul E-Land brought on Byeon Kyung-jun as the second half began. Additionally, in the 8th minute of the second half, Jeong Jae-min was introduced following Pedro. Chungbuk Cheongju strengthened its attack by substituting Mateuszinho and Gabriel in the 12th minute of the second half.
Chungbuk Cheongju recorded an additional goal in the 19th minute of the second half. Yeo Seung-won delivered a corner kick, which Jeon Hyun-byeong headed in to extend the lead to 2-0. Chungbuk Cheongju then brought on Yoon Seok-young in the 26th minute of the second half to bolster its defense.
Ultimately, Chungbuk Cheongju managed to fend off Seoul E-Land's relentless attacks and secured a valuable victory.
