Kiwoom Heroes will host the "Ewha Womans University Day" event.
Kiwoom noted on the 8th, "We will hold the 'Ewha Womans University Day' event during the game against LG Twins, which will take place on the 10th at 6:30 p.m. at the Gocheok Sky Dome."
Approximately 350 staff and students from Ewha Womans University are expected to attend the game on the 10th to cheer.
The first pitch will be thrown by Ewha Womans University President Lee Hyang-sook, while student Shin Hee-soo, the captain of the Ewha Play Girls club, will deliver the ceremonial hit. Established in 2012, the Ewha Play Girls is the only officially registered women's baseball club at the Korea Women's Baseball Association.
Lee Hyang-sook, president of Ewha Womans University, said, "I am delighted to be entrusted with the first pitch. Ewha students sincerely support Kiwoom Heroes, who are poised to soar to greater heights. I look forward to a great match and wish for a victory for Kiwoom Heroes." Student Shin Hee-soo remarked, "Thank you for inviting us again this year, following last year's event. This will be a precious memory for students at Ewha Womans University, including the Ewha Play Girls. I ask for your continued interest in both the Ewha Play Girls and women's baseball."
The national anthem will be sung by Professor Shin Ji-hwa from the vocal department of Ewha Womans University. Before the game, the Ewha Womans University cheerleading squad "Phyrus" will perform on the field, and the dance club "Viva City" will entertain on the first base cheering stage during cleaning time.
Since 2012, Kiwoom has operated a baseball lecture program called "Heroes University Special Lecture" targeting women's universities in Seoul. Starting this year, the program has been renamed "HEROES in Campus" and expanded to include general universities. Participating colleges will receive benefits such as baseball lectures, prize events, and invitations to Kiwoom's home games.
