Yasin Cheukoo, known as Lionel Messi's (38, Inter Miami) bodyguard, expressed dissatisfaction now that he can no longer stand on the field.
According to 'ESPN' and 'The Athletic' on the 2nd (Korea time), Yasin Cheukoo, well-known as Messi's personal bodyguard, expressed dissatisfaction with Inter Miami's decision that prohibits him from standing along the touchline or entering the field during matches.
Cheukoo has had a connection with Messi since their time at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). He became known as "Messi's muscular bodyguard" after images of him blocking spectators who invaded the field circulated on social media.
After Messi transferred to Major League Soccer (MLS) in the U.S., it is reported that he recommended Cheukoo to David Beckham, co-owner of Inter Miami, leading to Cheukoo becoming a member of the security team.
However, Inter Miami has decided that Cheukoo cannot stand on the touchline or enter the field during matches. This is in accordance with MLS security policies and protocols. However, he can still be with Messi in the team locker room and mixed zone as before.
In response, Cheukoo expressed dissatisfaction in an interview with the YouTube channel "House of Highlights" about the decision that prevents him from protecting Messi during matches.
Cheukoo emphasized, "I worked in Europe for seven years. I was present in Ligue 1 and the Champions League. But there were only six invaders. However, in the 20 months since I came to America, there have been 16 invaders. There is a significant problem here. The issue is not me; please help me protect Messi."
Cheukoo also noted, "I love MLS and the Confederation of North, Central America, and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), but we need to work together," emphasizing his "rich experience gained in Europe."
Meanwhile, Cheukoo, who has also briefly worked as a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter, is said to be a veteran of the U.S. Navy SEALs and served in the Middle East, particularly in Afghanistan and Iraq, although this has not been confirmed.
Cheukoo also garnered attention by challenging Logan Paul (30), the brother of Jake Paul who became a hot topic due to his match against Mike Tyson and is a 28 million subscriber YouTuber, to a boxing match. The lawsuit between Messi's invested and owned brand "MAS+" and Paul's "PRIME" brand, launched with British YouTuber KSI, escalated, leading Cheukoo to issue a challenge to Logan Paul.
