The Korea Baduk Association and the Taiwan Baduk Education Development Association held a memorandum of understanding (MOU) ceremony for the development of Baduk education at the Fuhua Grand Hotel in Taichung on the 30th of last month.

The purpose of this agreement is to share and utilize Baduk education content and resources held by the Korea Baduk Association and the Taiwan Baduk Education Development Association to promote the development and dissemination of Baduk education in both South Korea and Taiwan, and to foster the advancement of both organizations.

Yang Jae-ho, Secretary General of the Korea Baduk Association, and the newly appointed chairperson of the Taiwan Baduk Education Development Association, Chen Pi-ren, signed on behalf of their respective organizations, while the 11th chairperson, Zhang Zhao-feng, former International Go Federation (IGF) President Park Jeong-chae, and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Dong Jian-hong also attended the event, expressing hopes for the development of Baduk education in both countries.

Yang Jae-ho, Secretary General of the Korea Baduk Association, noted, "I am very pleased to proceed with Baduk exchange with Taiwan. I expect the development of Baduk education in both countries," and stated, "This agreement marks a new phase for the promotion of Baduk in our countries."

Dong Jian-hong, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, said, "Baduk is a skill that can develop clear thinking even in changing circumstances, making it worth promoting actively," and added, "It is an honor to participate in this international exchange event. I welcome the inclusion of Baduk as an official event in the Asian Games and hope for its selection as an official Olympic event."
