The Korea Baseball Softball Association (President Yang Hae-young) is hosting and overseeing the 2025 Shinsegae Emart National High School Baseball Championship, supported by Shinsegae Emart and Miryang City, which has entered its 7th day.
On the 30th, eight teams, including Inchang High School, Daejeon High School, Yongin City Baseball Team (U-18), Jeonbuk Artificial Intelligence High School, Gyeonggi Aviation High School, Huimun High School, Yooshin High School, and Jemulpo High School, secured their spots in the round of 32 with victories, while on the 31st, eight teams, including Yulgok High School Baseball Team, Masan Yongma High School, Bukil High School, Incheon High School, Chungam High School, Raon High School, Gyeongju High School, and Busan Technical High School, also achieved victories.
Incheon High School secured their spot in the round of 32 with a victory against the strong team Deoksu High School, who were aiming for their third consecutive championship, after a tense match that went into extra innings. Deoksu High School opened the scoring with 1 point in the first inning and added another point in the sixth inning, taking a 2-0 lead, but Incheon High School managed to tie the game with 2 points in the bottom of the sixth, forcing the match into extra innings.
In the 10th inning of the extra inning, during a rundown defense by Deoksu High School with 1 out and runners on second and third base, an error occurred, allowing the runner on third base to score the winning run, leading Incheon High School to a dramatic walk-off victory.
Meanwhile, in the first round, the newly established Yongin City Baseball Team drew attention by defeating the strong team Gyeongnam High School. They continued their success by winning in the second round on the 30th, confirming their spot in the round of 32 early on and emerging as a key player in the early stages of the tournament. Masan Yongma High School also showcased their skills both in pitching and batting. In the first round, they secured a victory with Choi Min-sang's multi-home run, and in the second round, Lee Yoon-sang recorded 11 strikeouts over 6 innings, leading the team to the round of 32.
Meanwhile, Daegu Sangwon High School, which reached the quarterfinals last year, and Seoul High School, which advanced to the second round with a cold victory in the first round, are expected to fight fiercely for a spot in the round of 32. Especially, matches are scheduled between formidable teams such as Jeonju High School, the runner-up from last year, Seoul High School, Gwangju Jeil High School, and Yatap High School.
