The impact of the structural collapse accident that occurred at Changwon NC Park on the 29th has led to the cancellation of all professional baseball games scheduled for the 1st at five stadiums across the country. The Changwon SSG-NC three-game series has been postponed due to safety inspections of the facility.

Earlier, during the LG-NC game on the 29th, a structural component on the third floor of Changwon NC Park fell onto the concession area on the first floor, injuring three spectators near the stand. A female fan in her 20s who suffered a head injury underwent surgery but passed away on the morning of the 31st.

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) expressed condolences on the 31st, stating, "A fan who loved baseball unfortunately passed away due to the incident that occurred at Changwon NC Park on the 29th. The KBO extends deep condolences to the victim and the bereaved family members. Additionally, we sincerely wish a speedy recovery for the two injured individuals who are still suffering from their injuries."

Accordingly, the KBO has designated the period from the 1st to the 3rd of next month as a mourning period and decided not to hold any KBO League or Futures League games on the 1st to honor the victims.

The KBO announced, "The Changwon (SSG-NC) games, which were scheduled to be held without spectators, will all be postponed. Games in Jamsil, Suwon, Daejeon, and Gwangju will resume from the 2nd of next month, and there will be a moment of silence for the victims before the games. The matches will proceed without cheers, and all participants will wear mourning ribbons to honor the victims."

The KBO and the 10 clubs plan to thoroughly inspect the safety of facilities and structures inside and outside all stadiums ahead of games, while also reinforcing and refining the self-assessments regularly conducted by clubs and local governments.

The KBO promised, "We sincerely wish for the repose of the soul of the victim of this accident. We will also stand alongside the bereaved family and the injured, as well as all baseball fans and officials who have suffered deep mental and physical wounds."
