The Korean Basketball League (KBL) will hold the 2024-2025 KCC Professional Basketball Awards on April 9 at 4:30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas.
This ceremony will announce the domestic and foreign player MVPs and the rookie player award winners, who have shown outstanding performances in the 2024-2025 KCC Professional Basketball season. Additionally, the Best 5, Best Defensive Player, Sixth Man Award, and Outstanding Development Award will be included, along with the "Pocari Sweat Popularity Award," selected through 100% fan voting, and the winner of the "Sejong Sports Orthopedic PLAY OF THE SEASON," which created the best moment of the season.
In particular, starting this season, two new institutional sectors will be established: the Marketing Award and the Local Excellence Award, which will be awarded to the top two club front offices based on ten indicators, including average attendance, average admission revenue, and paid audience ratio. Clubs that have conducted excellent marketing and social contribution activities in their local areas will be awarded the Local Excellence Award in partnership with Hansol.
In addition, awards will also be given to the teams that finished first (Seoul SK) and second and third in the regular season, as well as to the winners of six statistical categories (points, three-point shots, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks).
An award ceremony for fans who have contributed to this season of professional basketball, called the "Fan Awards," is also planned. The winners will be selected from the most visiting fans at the arena and those who actively participated in the KBL integrated website and application. Before that, the top 10 fans with the highest winning rates in their team's regular season will be awarded invitations to the ceremony and 20,000 KBL points. The highest bidder of the auction for the All-Star player uniform, Heo Hoon's uniform, will also be awarded the Love Sharing Award.
The 2024-2025 KCC Professional Basketball Awards will be broadcast live on tvN SPORTS, hosted by caster Jeong Yong-geum and announcer Park Ji-young. Pre-events starting before the main ceremony can be viewed on the YouTube channel "KBL TV."
