Son Heung-min (33), the captain of Tottenham Hotspur, has been recognized as one of the greatest players in the club's recent 25-year history.

The British media outlet Football London reported on the 29th (Korea time) that it has selected the top 25 players who have shone in Tottenham's past 25 years, placing Son Heung-min in 5th overall.

The outlet stated, "Son Heung-min is currently the captain of Tottenham and has recorded 173 goals, ranking 5th on the club's all-time leading scorers list" and praised him, saying, "He will remain a club legend by the time his career ends."

It also added, "He always approaches games with a smile. He is a player who truly loves Tottenham. He has a strong desire to lift trophies during his playing career. He is an individual who receives absolute support from the fans."

Son Heung-min joined Tottenham after leaving Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga in 2015. At the time of entering the Premier League, there were more concerns than expectations regarding Asian players. However, he quickly adapted from his first season, establishing himself as a key asset in the attack.

He reached a turning point in his career by winning the assist king title in the 2020-2021 season of the Premier League. In the 2021-2022 season, he scored 23 goals in the league, tying for the top scorer title with Mohamed Salah. He is the first Asian player to become the Premier League's top scorer.

As of the 2023-2024 season, Son Heung-min has appeared in 390 official matches wearing the Tottenham jersey, recording a total of 173 goals and 81 assists, consistently generating attacking points. This ranks him 5th in the club's all-time leading scorers.

In the summer of 2023, Son Heung-min took over as captain, replacing the retired Hugo Lloris. He is the first Asian player to serve as Tottenham's captain. He has established himself as a symbolic figure leading the team not only with leadership but also with skill.

The top player in Tottenham's history is Harry Kane (Bayern Munich). Kane is currently playing in Germany alongside Kim Min-jae.

Football London noted about Kane, "He may have left the team now, but he scored 280 goals during his 19-year career at Tottenham. This is the second most goals in Premier League history" and added, "He was the best professional and an excellent player, and he might return to Tottenham one day."

Additionally, Ledley King ranked 2nd, Gareth Bale 3rd, and Luka Modrić 4th.
