The season third match between the LG Twins and NC Dinos, scheduled to be held at Changwon NC Park on the 30th, has been abruptly canceled due to safety concerns for the spectators.
The KBO stated on the night of the 29th, "We have decided to postpone the match between NC and LG, originally planned for March 30 (Sunday) in Changwon. This decision was made after three spectators were injured due to a structure collapse during the match in Changwon on March 29 (Saturday), in consultation with the NC team to conduct safety inspections of the facilities."
A KBO official noted, "Since an injury incident occurred, we will conduct a safety inspection of the facilities to confirm the safety issues for the spectators. The inspection will take place on the 30th, and if there are no issues, we expect the NC home game to be held soon."
On the 29th, three spectators were transported to the hospital due to a structure collapse at Changwon NC Park during the LG-NC game. A structure on the exterior of the third floor fell onto the first floor concession stand, injuring two spectators who were near the concession stand.
An NC Dinos official reported that shortly after the LG-NC game began on the 29th, "Around 5:20 p.m., a structure installed on the wall on the third base side of Changwon NC Park fell, and three spectators were transported to the hospital. Two of them were taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance for examination and treatment. One individual was severely startled and needed to be transported to a different hospital for further care."
Another NC official stated, "We are currently investigating the circumstances of the accident and the condition of the victims. The team will do everything possible for the patients. The area where the accident occurred is being cordoned off."
There has been news about the spectators who were transported to the hospital. Subsequently, an NC official conveyed, "A spectator who suffered a head injury is undergoing surgery at a local hospital. One individual has a clavicle injury and is receiving treatment. A team staff member is on-site at the hospital," adding, "The team will spare no effort in providing support for treatment. Updates on the surgery's progress will be provided as they come in."
The NC team announced after the game against LG on the 29th, "The match against the LG Twins originally scheduled for March 30 (Sunday) at Changwon NC Park has been canceled for facility inspections. We will announce later whether the home game will proceed depending on the duration required for the safety inspections of the facilities."
From April 1, NC is scheduled to have a home three-game series against the SSG Landers at Changwon NC Park. A decision will be made regarding the home game against SSG based on the safety inspection taking place on the 30th.
