The Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Professional Baseball League achieved sellouts in two consecutive opening games at the new Daejeon Hanwha Life Eagles Park.

On the 29th, the home game against the Kia Tigers in the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League at the Daejeon Hanwha Life Eagles Park was filled with 17,000 spectators starting at 1:30 p.m.

This marks the second consecutive sellout following the official first game of the regular season the previous day (28th). Despite the cold snap and light rain before the game, the footsteps of fans visiting Hanwha Life Eagles Park did not cease.

Hanwha also continued its streak of five consecutive home game sellouts following the games against Kia, SSG, and NC held at the Hanwha Life Eagles Park between September 27-29 last year (with 12,000 attendees at that time).

Meanwhile, before the game that day, Hanwha held a moment of silence to honor the victims of the wildfire in the northern Gyeongsangbuk-do region after a national ceremony.

Following this, Kim Sung-kyu, the son of the late former manager Kim Yeong-deok, who led the golden era during the Binggrae period, stepped up as a special honorary pitcher to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the team's founding.

The Hanwha organization noted, "In light of the 40th anniversary of founding, we invited the son of the inaugural manager Bae Seong-seo and the second manager Kim Yeong-deok, who built the 'Dynamite' batting lineup, as honorary pitchers. Bae Seong-seo's son was unable to attend due to living abroad, and only Kim Yeong-deok's son Kim Sung-kyu participated in the honorary pitching event."
