The Lotte Giants, who are recording a shocking hitless streak, dramatically changed their batting order.

Led by manager Kim Tae-hyung, Lotte will present an unconventional starting lineup for their regular season game against the KT Wiz on the 29th at Sajik Stadium in Busan.

Lotte's lineup includes Jeon Jun-woo (left fielder), Kim Min-seong (second baseman), Son Ho-young (third baseman), RAY (right fielder), Na Seung-yeop (first baseman), Yoo Kang-nam (catcher), Jeong Hoon (designated hitter), Han Tae-yang (shortstop), and Jang Du-seong (center fielder).

Literally, the batting lineup has completely changed. The Lotte Giants, who are continuing their hitless streak, are making drastic changes to their batting order in order to find a breakthrough.

In fact, Jeon Jun-woo's appearance as the leadoff hitter is the first since the game against LG on Oct. 30, 2021, following a gap of 1,247 days. After nearly 3 years and 5 months, he will take the number 1 spot in the batting order.

Additionally, Han Tae-yang will step in as the starter in place of Jeon Min-jae at shortstop. This will mark Han Tae-yang's first starting appearance since the game against Kiwoom at Gocheok on Sept. 24, 2022. Moreover, Jang Du-seong will take the starting center field position, replacing Yoon Dong-hee, who has been struggling to get the timing right.

This is a starting lineup that reveals the concerns of manager Kim Tae-hyung. He noted, "Jeon Jun-woo batting first was suggested by the hitting coach. The only players who seem capable of hitting now are guys like Jang Du-seong. We're going to give it a try. The player with the best timing right now is Jeon Jun-woo."

Although they failed to score the previous day, in the 9th inning, Jeon Jun-woo and RAY hit some sizeable balls against KT's closer Park Young-hyun. However, all were caught at the warning track. Manager Kim Tae-hyung laughed and explained, "The timing was a little off—sometimes too early and sometimes too late."

If there's any silver lining, it's the veteran Kim Min-seong, who was called up after swinging a hot bat in the second team and recorded a multi-hit game. The manager stated, "He has been coming up with good reports from the second team. As a veteran, he must have gone through a lot of mental anguish. His body movement looks good, too."

He also hoped that the players would adapt their hitting to the situation better. He remarked, "There's a hitting cycle, and some may think it will come around again after the season, but right now, different appearances must come out. The team needs to make contact closely for each other. Of course, it's not easy. If everyone hits the same pattern thinking, 'It will eventually come together,' the mood will inevitably remain down. I ordered the players to be mindful of these things."

He added, "The players still lack experience. They need to understand the pitches and patterns of opposing pitchers and integrate that understanding at the plate. If they try to hit everything with their own timing, it's hard when things aren't going well. They also need to know what to let go of."
