The outline of the battle for 2nd and 6th place is becoming clear.
Suwon KT defeated Wonju DB 69-67 in the '2024-25 KCC Professional Basketball Round 6' held at Suwon KT Sonic Boom Arena on the 29th. With this victory, KT achieved its 4th consecutive win, tying with Changwon LG at 31 wins and 19 losses for 2nd place.
This was a must-win game for the fight for 2nd place. KT's substitute player Jarell Martin was also injured. RAY Hymons played for 36 minutes and 16 seconds, leading the team with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
Lee Kwan-hee, who had missed the game due to external issues, returned. Lee helped turn the game around at critical moments as DB closed the gap.
The problem was the 4th quarter. Heo Hoon solved scoring issues at critical moments with individual plays. Heo Hoon's fake against Omari Spellman during a switch situation, resulting in a 3-pointer and a layup, was significant.
DB also closed the gap, as Lee Kwan-hee scored a 3-pointer to make it 67-69 with 1 minute and 22 seconds left in the 4th quarter. However, just before the end, Lee made a crucial mistake during a reversal opportunity, causing the team to falter.
Heo Hoon concentrated 9 of his 20 points in the 4th quarter. He added 5 rebounds, 8 assists, and 1 steal, while keeping turnovers to just 2. Lee Kwan-hee performed well with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks but could not smile.
Anyang Jeonggwanjang defeated Seoul Samsung 82-72, achieving a 6th consecutive win. With a record of 23 wins and 27 losses, 6th place Jeonggwanjang extended their lead over 7th place DB (21 wins and 29 losses) by two games. If Jeonggwanjang wins 3 of its remaining four games, they will qualify for the playoffs.
