Seoul Dongsan High School defeats Cheongwon in thrilling national baseball match

The 2025 Shinsegae Emart National High School Baseball Championship, hosted by the Korea Baseball Softball Association (President Yang Hae-young) and sponsored by Shinsegae Emart and Miryang City, concluded its third day of games.

In the match between Seoul Dongsan High School and Cheonan CSBC, Seoul Dongsan High School, trailing 3-0, scored 1 run in the 7th inning and added 2 runs in the 8th inning to tie the game. They confidently advanced to the second round after creating a big inning with 5 runs in the top of the 10th inning.

Cheongwon High School claimed a dramatic 3-4 walk-off victory against Seoul Convention High School. Trailing 0-2, they began their comeback with a 1-RBI single from Kim Woo-kyung in the bottom of the 5th inning and equalized with a game-tying hit from Shin Min-seong in the bottom of the 8th inning. They secured the win in the bottom of the 10th inning with a walk-off hit from Jo Hye-seong with no outs and the bases loaded.

Last year's runner-up Jeonju High School recorded a cold victory against Asan BC. Despite being shaken by a grand slam from Asan BC's Kim Myung-jun in the top of the 7th inning while maintaining a 5-0 lead, they widened the gap with 5 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning and added 1 run in the bottom of the 8th to secure the win. Jeonju High's Park Han-gyeol contributed to the team's victory by reaching base in every at-bat, including 1 home run. Yatap High School advanced to the second round, led by Hwang Yoon-ho's perfect pitching for 7 innings without allowing any runs against Jang-an High School, while Gwangju Jeil High School defeated Pukyong High School 8-0, thanks to Jo Hwi-won's multi-home runs in the 2nd and 6th innings.

On the 4th day of the tournament, scheduled for the 29th (Saturday), matches featuring Gyeonggi High School, which reached the quarterfinals last year, and Busan High School, seeking redemption from the last tournament, are scheduled. All tournament matches will be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of the Korea Baseball Softball Association.
