The 2025 Shinsegae Emart National High School Baseball Championship, hosted by the Korea Baseball Softball Association and sponsored by Shinsegae Emart and Miryang City, kicked off on the 26th in Miryang, South Gyeongsang Province.
On the day before the opening, the Korea Baseball Softball Association and Miryang City signed a memorandum of understanding to leap into a sports city and ensure the successful hosting of the amateur baseball tournament (2025-2026, for two years).
Through this, they will continue to collaborate to expand Miryang City's baseball infrastructure, and Miryang City plans to install an automatic ball and strike detection system (ABS) at the Miryang Sunshine Sports Park stadium in the future.
On the first day of the tournament (26th), Chairman Yang Hae-young and Miryang Mayor Ahn Byeong-gu attended the opening ceremony and threw the first pitch, signaling the successful start of the tournament.
In the game held at the Miryang Sunshine Sports Park field 1, between Suncheon Hyocheon High School BC and Gyeongbuk High School, a total of 28 hits were recorded by both teams, and Suncheon Hyocheon High School BC achieved a dramatic comeback victory with 8 runs in the 8th inning.
In the first round held on the first day, a total of 9 teams (Yongin City Baseball Team, Gwangnam High School BC, Whimoon High School, Gunsan Sangil High School, Suncheon Hyocheon High School BC, Jeonbuk Artificial Intelligence High School, Daejeon High School, Gyeonggi Aviation High School, SIS Dental) secured their advancement to the second round.
Meanwhile, the association plans to actively promote the 2025 Shinsegae Emart National High School Baseball Championship by operating a press corps to produce content that captures the event atmosphere, including field photos and short-form videos.
