Bayern Munich is seeking the full sale of promising player Mathys Tel (20).

According to Germany's 'Bild' on the 28th (Korea time), Bayern Munich expects Tottenham to activate the full transfer option for Tel and plans to use that funding to acquire a new striker.

Tel dramatically joined Tottenham during the last moments of the winter transfer market. Originally, Tel had rejected the transfer to Tottenham, but he reversed his decision and wore the Tottenham jersey.

Bayern Munich wanted a full transfer for Tel. However, they agreed to a loan deal that includes a full transfer option with Tottenham. Tel struggled to secure his position under manager Vincent Kompany. He had issues being utilized as both a winger and a central striker.

Ultimately, Tel made the transfer to Tottenham to gain more playing time. However, Tel's consent is required for the full option that Tottenham can activate. Bayern Munich hopes that Tottenham will take Tel for €60 million (approximately 94.9 billion won).

However, Tel has yet to meet expectations at Tottenham. He has scored only 1 goal in 7 games. He registered his debut goal in a 1-2 loss to Aston Villa in the English Football Association (FA) Cup Round of 32 on the 10th of last month, but he remains silent in the Premier League and the Europa League.

Internally at Tottenham, there is still optimism about Tel. Given his potential to replace captain Son Heung-min (33) as both a winger and a central striker, the sentiment leans positively towards a full transfer.

The issue lies in the Europa League performance. If Tottenham, led by manager Ange Postecoglou, cannot win the Europa League, it may significantly impact the transfer of Tel. With participation in European competitions being blocked, financial limitations are inevitable.

Tel may also be unwilling to remain at Tottenham. He could leave to find a club that allows him to participate in European competitions without agreeing to Tottenham’s activation of the option. Regardless, an important match for Tottenham in the Europa League quarterfinal first leg will begin on the 11th with an away game against Frankfurt.
