The Ryu Hyun-jin Foundation (Chairman Ryu Hyun-jin) will host a sports art collaboration exhibition "RYUNIVERSAL" from Dec. 12 to 27 at the POSCO The Sharp Gallery in collaboration with Sports Cooking BOB (CEO Ahn Gi-dae).

Sports Cooking BOB is a socio-cultural arts team active under the philosophy that "art smoothly intervenes in sports." Artists working in various areas such as painting, sculpture, and media art are continuing their work to interpret sports with an artistic gaze and to express the emotions and symbols that arise when art meets sports through a new visual language.

This exhibition will showcase 14 artworks themed on baseball player Ryu Hyun-jin. The artists associated with Sports Cooking BOB have expressed not only the external image of player Ryu Hyun-jin, but also the inner narratives and twists contained within, using their own media and perspectives, such as painting, digital art, and sculpture. This exhibition will display the 100 pieces of original art by the artists at POSCO E&C and The Sharp Gallery, and the main works will also be presented in the form of "steel art" realized on steel plates through collaboration with POSCO STEELEON and Gallery Miho.

The Ryu Hyun-jin Foundation noted about this exhibition, "Artists reinterpret the life and symbolism of player Ryu Hyun-jin through their own perspectives in a meaningful project that combines sports and art," adding, "I hope that this work presents another way for sports and art to connect with the public."

Fifty percent of the revenue generated from the artworks featured in this exhibition will be used for foundation projects aimed at nurturing and developing youth baseball players, while the remaining 50% will be utilized to support the creative activities of the 14 participating artists.

Chairman Ryu Hyun-jin expressed, "I was deeply moved by the fact that the works themed on me could be expressed so diversely and profoundly through the artists' perspectives. I hope to share the possibility that sports and art can inspire each other with many people through this exhibition." He added, "The Ryu Hyun-jin Foundation will continue to communicate with society in various ways and create pathways for sports and culture to grow together."

Meanwhile, this exhibition will feature 14 artists from Sports Cooking BOB, including Kaze Park, Yoon Song-ah, Park Jeong-in, Hwang Taek, Lee Se-na, Jeong Jun-mi, Daniel Shin, Park Ji-hyun, Preka, Lee Byeong-cheol, Rudo, Kim Eun-joo, Luca Kim, and Choi Ha-na, all focused on the theme of Ryu Hyun-jin.
