A foreign player for the Hanwha Eagles, Florial, suffered an unfortunate incident when a ball hit his head during training.

Hanwha will face LG in the second match of the season on the 26th at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul. The previous day, Hanwha lost 0-5.

Florial had a little accident prior to training on the 26th while warming up. It is said that he was warming up in the outfield when he was struck on the head by a ball from LG batters during their batting practice.

Manager Kim Kyung-moon said, “Florial was hit by a ball while warming up today. If it were someone else, they would have gone to the hospital, and it would have been chaos with an ambulance. But he says he’s fine now. Inside, I think he is boiling (with anxiety) right now. I feel like he will explode someday.” Florial applied ice to his head where he was hit and calmed down, and he will participate in the game normally.

Hanwha will start the following lineup for the day: Kim Tae-yeon (left fielder), Moon Hyun-bin (designated hitter), Florial (center fielder), Noh Si-hwan (third baseman), Chae Eun-sung (first baseman), Hwang Young-mook (second baseman), Im Jong-chan (right fielder), Lee Jae-won (catcher), and Shim Woo-jun (shortstop).

The previous day, second baseman Ahn Chi-hong and catcher Choi Jae-hoon were absent. Choi Jae-hoon was out for physical management, and Ahn Chi-hong was absent due to poor condition.

Prior to the game, manager Kim Kyung-moon commented on Ahn Chi-hong, saying, “Since the stomachache after the KT game on the 23rd, his condition has been a bit off. Yesterday, he kept saying he was fine, but from what I see, we should wait a bit longer. I plan to use him in the key moments of the later innings. Young-mook is preparing first.”

Florial started as the third center fielder against LG on the 25th, going hitless in 4 at-bats with 2 strikeouts. He has recorded 0 hits in 12 at-bats with 1 walk over 3 games since the season opened.

He was retired with a strikeout on 3 pitches with one out on first base in the 1st inning. He struck out again in the 4th. Before he was struck out by a foul tip, there was a foul ball that barely missed the right field line, which was unfortunate. In the 7th inning, leading off with the score tied 0-0, Hernandez hit a fastball at 143-147 km/h but was thrown out on a ground ball to second base. In the 9th inning, trailing 0-5, with two outs, he faced Kim Kang-ryul and hit a curveball on the second pitch but was out on a ground ball back to the pitcher.
