Micky van de Ven (23, Tottenham) is making headlines by naming Archie Gray (19), not Son Heung-min (33), as the club's best ambidextrous player.

The British media outlet 'TBR Football' introduced a video on the 25th (Korean time) in which Tottenham players select the team's best ambidextrous player, stating, "Van de Ven chose Gray instead of Son Heung-min."

Van de Ven praised, "Gray plays in different positions each time and uses both feet skillfully. He can make every play with his left foot, and his ambidextrous ability deserves five stars."

Gray, born in 2006, is a product of the Leeds United youth team. He joined Tottenham in the summer of 2023 for a transfer fee of £30 million (approximately 52.5 billion won). Although he primarily came on as a substitute early in the season, he impressed beyond expectations by playing in the defensive line, despite it not being his original position, due to injuries among defenders.

Gray can freely pass from either side. In particular, his use of both feet is excellent in build-up situations, making it effective for evading pressure.

However, not everyone agrees with Van de Ven's choice. Many believe that Son Heung-min is the best ambidextrous player on the team. 'TBR Football' reported, "Both Mikey Moore and Destiny Udogie rated Son Heung-min's ambidextrous ability as the best," adding, "Moore noted, 'Son's left foot is incredibly refined, with almost no difference from his right foot. He is definitely the best.'"

Son Heung-min has proven his scoring ability with his ambidextrous skills. In the 2021-2022 season, he scored 12 goals with his left foot and 11 goals with his right foot, becoming the first Asian player to win the Premier League's top scorer award. This record is cited as a representative example that goes beyond merely being able to use both feet, demonstrating that both feet can be used like a 'dominant foot.'

Former England international midfielder Owen Hargreaves evaluated, "Son Heung-min has the best ambidextrous ability in the world," while Michael Owen praised, "Son Heung-min is a complete striker with outstanding records with both feet."
