The Korea Football Association announced the roster for the women's national soccer team, which will participate in a two-match friendly series against Australia in April, on the 26th.
The women's team, led by head coach Shin Sang-woo, will play two friendly matches against the Australian women's national team in April. According to Korean time, the first match will take place at 6 p.m. on April 4 at Allianz Stadium in Sydney, and the second match at 6:30 p.m. on April 7 at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle.
The roster consists of 26 players. Since taking office in October last year, head coach Shin Sang-woo has been proactive in selecting new faces for every call-up, and for this international match, he largely retained the squad that won the Pink Ladies Cup held last month in the United Arab Emirates, making changes to only a few players.
Kang Chae-rim (Suwon FC), who missed the Pink Ladies Cup, has been selected, and Casey Yujin Fair (Angel City), who has only played for the U-17 national team since June last year, returned to the senior national team after nine months. Center-back Go Yu-jin (Incheon Hyundai Steel) has been selected for the senior team for the first time in three years since April 2022.
Midfielder Jung Min-young (Seoul City Hall), born in 2000, is the only player to join the senior national team for the first time on this roster.
The overseas players on this national team include Casey Yujin Fair, Kim Shin-ji (AS Roma), Kim Hye-ri (Wuhan Jingda), Shin Na-young (Lexington SC), Lee Geum-min, and Choi Yu-ri (both Birmingham City), Lee Young-joo (Levante Las Planas), Ji So-yeon (Seattle Rain), and Choo Hyo-joo (Ottawa Rapid), totaling nine players.
There are 16 players currently active in the WK League, and the only college player is Jeong Da-bin (Korea University), who made her A-match debut in the Pink Ladies Cup.
The women's national team is preparing for next year’s 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup, which will also serve as qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. This two-match series is expected to provide a good opportunity to gain experience in the environment of the Asian Cup host country while evaluating against strong teams.
The squad is scheduled to gather on the 30th and depart for Australia.
