Jed Spence (25), the fullback who has emerged as a key player for Tottenham, showed respect for vice-captain James Maddison (29).

'Football London' noted on the 26th (Korea time) that Maddison's influence at Tottenham, where Son Heung-min is the captain, has been evident, shining a light on Spence's comments about Maddison's impact.

Spence, who joined Tottenham in the summer of 2022, has become a central figure for the team this season. After seizing opportunities under manager Ange Postecoglou, Spence has showcased his presence both defensively and offensively.

Spence appeared on a podcast hosted by Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand, where he evaluated, "Maddison is one of the best players in the Premier League."

Maddison, who supports captain Son Heung-min, is having a great season with 9 goals and 5 assists in 27 league matches and a total of 11 goals and 7 assists in 38 matches. He sometimes wears the captain's armband when Son is absent.

When asked who gives the most advice on the team, Spence replied, "Maddison." He continued, "Maddison is always by my side. He checks on my condition before the game and provides feedback afterward."

He added, "Even when he can’t be included in the squad due to injury, he sends messages asking, 'Jed, you know what you have to do today, right?' or 'I hope to see you show this kind of performance.' Maddison is a player who supports me a lot."

Spence also stated, "He is an excellent player. I think he is one of the best in the Premier League and a player who can never be underestimated. When Maddison is on the pitch, he is someone we can rely on, and he can change the flow of the game. He is the core of Tottenham."
