Harry Kane (32, Bayern Munich) could see his transfer rumors to Liverpool cool significantly.
The British media 'Sport Bible' suggested on the 24th (Korean time) that Kane's transfer rumors to Liverpool could end up as mere speculation, based on his past comments regarding his return to the Premier League.
Recently, Spanish media 'El Nacional' raised the possibility of Kane's transfer to Liverpool.
Kane left Tottenham for Munich, Germany, in the summer of 2023. It was a transfer aiming for his first career trophy. Currently, Munich has reached the Champions League quarter-finals and is leading in the Bundesliga.
Last October, after winning the Gerd Müller trophy alongside Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid), Kane remarked in an interview with the French media 'L'Équipe,' "This trophy proves that my choice to leave England was the right one," while also saying, "I may return someday to aim for a more prestigious trophy," surprising everyone.
Half a year later, 'Sport Bible' interpreted this statement as hinting at the possibility of a return to the Premier League, with the report from 'El Nacional' on the 24th stating, "Kane is seriously considering returning to England ahead of the 2025-2026 season" serving as the starting point. Liverpool was mentioned as a potential destination.
Spain's 'Fichajes' also reported the same day that "Liverpool could offer €120 million (about 190 billion won) for Kane." They added that Kane might return to an English club through a buyout clause after winning a championship with Munich this season.
However, Kane is highly satisfied with life in Munich. Last February, he stated after a win against Werder Bremen, "I'm very happy in Munich."
His contract reportedly has a buyout clause of about £64 million (approximately 121.3 billion won) based on the summer transfer market and about £54 million (approximately 102.4 billion won) based on next winter. If a team wants him pays the buyout, the possibility of acquisition is very high. Kane said there would be "no comment" regarding the transfer clause.
Kane also expressed his affection for the team in an interview with FIFA. He said, "It's only been 18 months, but it seems to have already become a big part of my life. The fans have welcomed me like their own. I'm grateful for that. It's enjoyable to play under this coach and for this team. We're playing good football," he emphasized.
Kane aims for the Champions League and Bundesliga titles with Munich this season. If Munich wins both tournaments, Kane also has a chance to win the Ballon d'Or. The awards ceremony will be held in Paris on Oct. 27.
