Is it another injury?

Kia Tigers shortstop Park Chan-ho (27) was substituted due to knee pain while running the bases.

Park Chan-ho played in the 2025 Korea Professional Baseball game against the Kiwoom Heroes at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field on the 25th, but he sustained a knee injury while attempting to steal a base in the first inning.

Park Chan-ho came to bat as the lead-off hitter in the bottom of the first with the team trailing 0-3 and reached base with a hit that rolled to right field. As Wisdom entered the batter's box, he attempted to steal second base after missing on the second pitch. He made it safely, but during the slide, he accidentally impacted his right knee.

He complained of pain, and a team physician was called in to assess him. After some time, the pain subsided, and he returned to the base to resume the game. However, while running to third base on a ground ball in front of Wisdom, the pain returned.

He limped to third BASS and signaled for a substitution. Kim Kyu-sung immediately came in as a pinch runner. Na Sung-bum hit a two-run home run, narrowing the score to 2-3.

Park Chan-ho will immediately move to the team’s designated hospital, Seonhan Hospital, for an MRI examination.

On the 22nd, in the opening game against the NC Dinos, key player Kim Do-young was injured after trying to make an aggressive run on the bases after just two at-bats, suffering a left hamstring injury. With Park Chan-ho now facing the possibility of injury just three games later, a dark shadow looms over the team.
