Micky van de Ven (23, Tottenham) has caused a stir by naming Archie Gray (19) as the club's best ambidextrous player instead of Son Heung-min (33).

The British media outlet 'TBR Football' reported on the 25th (Korean time) that while Tottenham players pointed out their top ambidextrous player in a video, "van de Ven mentioned the best ambidextrous player at Tottenham, but the main character was not Son Heung-min," stating that he named Gray.

Van de Ven said, "I would choose Gray. You can see him playing in different positions every time, and he can do everything with his left foot," adding, "I think Gray's ambidextrous ability is five stars."

Born in 2006, Gray, a product of Leeds United's youth system, joined Tottenham last summer for a transfer fee of £30 million (approximately 52.5 billion won). He was initially used as a rotational player at the beginning of the season but was frequently relied upon as a defender despite it not being his main position due to the consecutive injuries of fellow defenders. Surprisingly, he adapted quickly and performed stably in the back line.

However, van de Ven's 'Gray choice' has not gained 100% agreement. This is because many within Tottenham consider Son Heung-min to be the best ambidextrous player.

'TBR Football' noted, "Both Mikey Moore and Destiny Udogie rated Son Heung-min's ambidextrous ability as top-notch. Moore expressed that Son Heung-min's left foot is 'unbelievably good and nearly indistinguishable from his right foot. He is definitely the best,'" expressing bewilderment at van de Ven only picking Gray.

Son Heung-min is a representative forward in the Premier League who uses both feet freely. He scored 12 goals with his left foot and 11 goals with his right foot in the 2021-2022 season, setting a record as the first Asian to become the Premier League's top scorer.

Former England national midfielder Owen Hargreaves mentioned, "Son Heung-min has one of the best ambidextrous abilities in the world," and Michael Owen also evaluated, "Son Heung-min has remarkable records with both feet.' However, van de Ven believes Gray possesses even greater ambidextrous skills.
