Archie Gray's two-footed ability was rated higher than that of Son Heung-min (Tottenham).
TBR Football reported on the 24th (Korean time) that 'defender Micky van de Ven named another player, rather than Son Heung-min, as the player with the best two-footed ability among Tottenham players.'
TBR Football evaluated Son Heung-min as the player who makes the best use of both feet and questioned van de Ven's choice.
In particular, the player van de Ven rated higher than Son Heung-min was Archie Gray.
Gray, who was signed by Tottenham for £30 million (57 billion won), has been active in various positions this season. Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou, who was significantly impacted by injuries, filled the gap left by the defender with Archie Gray.
Van de Ven evaluated that the teenage prospect Gray can use both feet similarly and actively employs his left foot when necessary.
Contrary to van de Ven's thoughts, Son Heung-min is one of the greatest players of all time.
TalkSport introduced the top 20 two-footed players in football history last year, noting, 'We thought about the players who used both feet best in football history.' The media considered criteria such as ability with both feet and career achievements.
Son Heung-min ranked 14th. TalkSport stated, 'We have seen Son Heung-min several times coming in from the right flank and curling a shot with his left foot. That's why it's easy to think of him as a left-footed player. However, when you see him take free kicks and penalties with his right foot, you realize which foot is stronger.'
It added, 'Son Heung-min is the player who has scored the most goals (46 goals) in Premier League history with his weaker foot. As everyone knows, that's more than former teammate Harry Kane. Defenders sometimes struggle with where to position themselves.'
According to the ranking set by TalkSport at the time, Neymar was just above Son Heung-min. They are among the best players, yet van de Ven evaluated Gray as superior to Son Heung-min.
Van de Ven, in an interview with Tottenham's official channel, responded to a question about which player has good two-footed ability by saying, 'I would choose Gray,' adding, 'When you see him play in various positions, you can see that he can use his left foot effectively.'
He also stated, 'He is a player who uses both feet with great ease, and I think his weaker foot is top-notch.'
In contrast, Mikey Moore and Destiny Udogie identified Son Heung-min as the player with the best weaker foot ability at Tottenham.
Moore praised Son Heung-min's left foot as being incredibly reliable.
Moore said, 'I would choose Son Heung-min. His left foot is incredibly outstanding,' noting, 'It’s at the same level as his right foot. The player with the best weaker foot is Son Heung-min.'
Meanwhile, Son Heung-min has scored a total of 127 goals in the Premier League, with 74 goals scored with his right foot and 49 with his left foot.
