Tottenham is seeking to sign Danish winger Gustav Isaksen (23, Lazio).
The British media outlet TeamTalk reported on the 23rd (Korea time), citing Italian TVPlay, that "Tottenham is keeping a close eye on Isaksen to strengthen its attacking lineup in preparation for the 2025-2026 season."
Isaksen is active in the Italian Serie A with Lazio. He has appeared in 39 matches this season, scoring 5 goals and providing 5 assists, leading the team’s attack.
Tottenham is reported to be preparing a transfer fee of around 40 million euros (about 58.4 billion won) to bring him in.
Primarily playing on the right flank, he excels at cutting inside and is a versatile player who can operate on both sides. If he joins Tottenham, he is expected to compete for a starting position with Son Heung-min, Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert, and Mikey Moore.
If Isaksen successfully enters London, Johnson's position may become more precarious. TeamTalk noted, "Johnson could return to his former team, Nottingham Forest."
The key to the transfer negotiation is Lazio's acquisition of a replacement player. Lazio wants Chiesa from Liverpool in exchange for parting with Isaksen. Liverpool has put Chiesa on the market for 15 million euros (about 21.9 billion won). If the transfer of Chiesa goes through, the likelihood of Lazio selling Isaksen increases.
Born in 2001, Isaksen began his professional career at Danish club Midtjylland. He gained experience playing over 100 matches in his domestic league and transferred to Lazio in 2023. In his debut season, he struggled with adaptation but secured a starting position under coach Marco Baroni. Notably, he made an impression by scoring twice in consecutive matches against Napoli.
He is also active in the Danish national team. He proved his competitiveness on the international stage by scoring goals against Switzerland and Spain in the UEFA Nations League.
