The '2025 PBA-LPBA tryouts (TRYOUT)' will begin registration.
The Professional Billiards Association (PBA) led by President Kim Young-soo announced that it will begin registration for the PBA-LPBA tryouts on the 24th. The tryouts are a stage for selecting players to compete in the PBA-LPBA for the 2025-26 season. Unlike the Q-School or priority registration system, which compete for promotion to the first division and to retain a spot, anyone aspiring to be a professional billiards player can participate.
Those who pass the PBA tryouts will be granted qualification to register for the Dream Tour (second division). If candidates pass the LPBA tryouts, they can perform in the first division next season. Last season, a total of four players, including Lee Sun-young, Woo Hwi-in, Kim Anna, and Kang Seung-hyun, made their mark in the professional billiards scene through the LPBA tryouts.
The PBA tryout registration will proceed for those aiming for the Dream Tour starting from 3 p.m. on the 24th to 12 p.m. on the 27th. The PBA tryouts will be held in two sessions on April 12-13 and 26-27 at the Goyang KINTEX PBA Stadium. The number of registrants is expected to be around 200.
Additionally, registration for the LPBA tryouts will be accepted from 3 p.m. on the 24th to 12 p.m. on the 26th, with the LPBA tryouts scheduled for April 19 and 20. The LPBA tryouts will take place at the Goyang KINTEX PBA Stadium, with approximately 80 registrants expected.
