Coupang Play announced that it has formed a strategic partnership with the Premier League and will exclusively broadcast all Premier League matches from the 2025-2026 season.
At the partnership signing ceremony held in Seoul, Coupang Play CEO Kim Sung-han, Sports Director Lee Jong-rok, Premier League Chief Media Officer Paul Molnar, and Global Media Sales Director Josh Smith attended. Through this partnership, Coupang Play and the Premier League plan to continue their cooperation not only in broadcasting matches but also in diversifying sports entertainment content.
With this, Coupang Play has completed a total package of English football, broadcasting the EFL Championship, EFL League One, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and Community Shield, along with the Premier League. Viewers will be able to enjoy matches of South Korean Premier League players such as Son Heung-min and Yang Min-hyeok (Tottenham), Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton), Kim Ji-soo (Brentford), and the recently confirmed Yoon Do-young (Brighton) starting from the 2025-2026 season.
Additionally, Coupang Play has proven its clear leadership in the football category as the only service in South Korea to broadcast all four major European football leagues (Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1). Coupang Play has continuously expanded its football content, showcasing diverse and differentiated sport broadcasts including national team matches and K League, along with international leagues and tournaments.
Premier League Chief Media Officer Paul Molnar said, "I am very pleased to collaborate with Coupang Play as the official broadcast partner in Korea. Coupang Play is the ideal partner to deliver Premier League football in new and innovative ways, and I expect to create a differentiated viewing experience and fan engagement together."
Coupang Play CEO Kim Sung-han stated, "I am very pleased to present the Premier League, the world's best football stage that has long been loved by Korean fans, on Coupang Play. We will actively invest in various aspects to meet the high expectations of sports fans by providing the best broadcasts, the widest range of programming, and vivid picture quality, as well as producing and offering various additional content."
As the top professional football league in England, the birthplace of football, the Premier League has high recognition and a strong global fandom. In particular, it was the first league to create a culture of staying up late to watch overseas football broadcasts during the era of Park Ji-sung at Manchester United, known as the 'father of overseas football.' Since then, it has become a familiar stage to domestic fans due to the consistent play of South Korean players such as Lee Young-pyo, Seol Ki-hyeon, Ki Sung-yueng, Lee Chung-yong, Ji Dong-won, and Park Chu-young.
This season, England's top 20 clubs are competing in the Premier League, including Liverpool, aiming for their 20th title and a record for the most titles in the league, Manchester City, who achieved a 'treble' in the 2022-2023 season, Newcastle, who are on the rise with a Carabao Cup victory in the 2024-2025 season, Everton, one of the six teams that have never been relegated since the Premier League's inception in 1992, and Nottingham, who are currently ranked 3rd in the league and are on the verge of returning to the Champions League.
All matches of the Premier League where viewers can enjoy the plays of the world's best players, historic and traditional rival matches, and the performances of South Korean football pillars such as Son Heung-min, Yang Min-hyeok, Hwang Hee-chan, Kim Ji-soo, and Yoon Do-young will be available exclusively on Coupang Play from the 2025-2026 season.
