Harry Kane (32, Bayern Munich) is pushing for a return to the Premier League. Of course, it is not a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.

British outlet 'Sports Bible' reported on the 24th (Korea time) that "Harry Kane is contemplating a return to the Premier League through a transfer to Liverpool."

Having joined the prestigious German club Bayern Munich after leaving Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023, Kane has been showcasing his peak form with 32 goals and 11 assists in 37 matches so far. Despite his outstanding performance, it seems that his heart is still directed toward his home country.

According to reports, Kane has expressed to close acquaintances that he "wants to finish his playing career in the Premier League," and Liverpool is being mentioned as the most suitable destination for his return.

Manchester United is also showing interest, but Kane's thirst for victory and Liverpool's competitive project make the possibility of a transfer more likely.

Currently, Liverpool is devising a new attacking line under manager Arne Slot. Given that existing attacking players, including Darwin Núñez, Luis Díaz, and Diogo Jota, have been underperforming, Liverpool is looking for a 'ready-to-play' and 'leader-type striker.' The player who meets all these conditions is none other than Harry Kane.

Spanish outlet 'El Nacional' assessed that "Kane perfectly fits the top-tier attacking resources Liverpool desires," noting that "he is one of the most versatile strikers in Europe."

It continued by stating, "He is also a person who aligns well with the ambitious project Liverpool is currently undertaking."

The reason Kane's transfer to Liverpool has realistic possibilities lies in his contract terms. His contract with Bayern Munich includes a buyout clause of about £52 million (approximately 99 billion won), which is considered low relative to his value. While Liverpool was initially focused on Newcastle's Alexander Isak as a top transfer target, facing challenges regarding the transfer fee, Kane could become a more feasible alternative.

Above all, Kane’s return to the Premier League could be more than just a simple team transfer; it could become a historical moment.

He currently ranks second in the Premier League's all-time scoring list (213 goals) and is chasing first place Alan Shearer (260 goals). If he returns to the Premier League and plays for 2 to 3 more seasons, becoming the top scorer is certainly a plausible scenario.

Tottenham fans understandably might feel disappointed. Among fans who were hopeful for a reunion with Son Heung-min, there are many voices saying, "He should return to Tottenham."

Realistically, Tottenham is currently evaluated as a team far from winning, and if Kane wants to finish the latter part of his career with trophies, Liverpool may be the more realistic choice.

Meanwhile, Kane has stated in interviews that he is "very satisfied at Bayern Munich," but changes in the world of football are always unpredictable. If Liverpool utilizes his buyout clause to pursue his transfer, it could create the most noteworthy 'transfer of the century' in this summer transfer market.
