Shin Young-cheol appointed as the fourth head coach in the club's history… deemed the right person to lead changes for the club.

Shin Young-cheol said, "I am grateful to the OK Oman volleyball team for giving me this opportunity, and I will lead them back to spring volleyball."

OK Savings Bank Oman Volleyball Team (owner Choi Yoon, hereafter referred to as OK Oman Volleyball Team) announced on the 24th that they have appointed Shin Young-cheol (61) as their new head coach. Shin Young-cheol is set to lead the OK Oman Volleyball Team as the fourth head coach in the club's history.

The OK Oman Volleyball Team evaluates both domestic and international coaches every year, including outstanding leaders from Europe and Japan. To select a new coach who can change the team that finished last in the 2024-2025 season and help elevate it again, they closely reviewed the domestic and international candidates they had previously identified. Based on his years of coaching experience and proven capabilities in team rebuilding, they decided to appoint Shin Young-cheol as the right choice.

Shin Young-cheol has been recognized for his leadership while serving as coach for LIG Insurance (now KB Insurance), Korean Air, Korea Electric Power Corporation, and Woori Card. As a "researching coach," he pursued data-driven team management and led all the teams he coached to postseason appearances, showcasing his role as a "spring volleyball evangelist." He also achieved results in clear team rebuilding, leading teams to the championship finals three times.

Additionally, he has expertise in developing setters, which is expected to positively impact the development of the setter lineup in the future OK Oman Volleyball Team. During his playing career, Shin Young-cheol was a national team setter for the Korea volleyball team, competing as a starter on various international stages, winning the "Best Setter Award" in the World League, showcasing his competitive edge as a setter on the global stage.

An official from the OK Oman Volleyball Team said, "We reviewed various candidates to appoint a coach who could bring change to the team that finished last this season," and noted that "based on the training methods and defensive systems established by the former coach, we believe the new coach's outstanding leadership will fill in the gaps well."

Shin Young-cheol, taking the helm of the OK Oman Volleyball Team, expressed, "I would like to thank the officials of the OK Oman Volleyball Team for giving me this new opportunity. I will do my best to help the OK Oman Volleyball Team return to spring volleyball," and added, "I will lead the existing players in their growth and ensure the team solidifies and rises again through trust and active communication with the players."
