The home stadium of KT Wiz, Suwon KT Wiz Park, has transformed into a fan-first stadium in time for the 2025 season. Not only were there improvements to fan-friendly facilities, but many representative local restaurants were signed to open additional locations.
A KT Wiz official met on the 22nd and 23rd during the opening series of professional baseball against the Hanwha Eagles at Suwon KT Wiz Park and noted, "We improved the viewing environment at Wiz Park for the opening."
KT made thorough efforts to improve the cheering environment during the off-season. The stadium's speakers were completely replaced, and a cheering section was newly established in the 5th-floor Sky Zone seats, which were expanded for operation on the 22nd and 23rd. Additionally, artificial turf was installed due to the aging of the natural grass in the outfield free seating area to create a pleasant viewing environment.
The Wiz Terrace, installed in the central outfield, will expand its operation throughout the season. Last season, KT temporarily operated the Wiz Terrace to provide a new viewing environment, and this season, it has designated this area as a premium event viewing zone to be operated throughout the entire season. It offers unlimited beer and food packages, and customized garden speakers have also been installed. KT also plans to hold a summer water cannon installation event.
KT also unveiled a new AI electronic display board installed in the left field near third base. After the end of the 3rd inning, foreign player Mel Rojas Jr. appeared on the AI electronic board, conducting a natural interview in Korean through AI human technology. A KT official noted, "We planned the event using technology that converts foreign players' voices into Korean. Other players will also be opening soon."
Additionally, new technologies such as "AI translation," which translates player introductions and announcer comments during the game, and "AI CCTV," which displays stadium congestion, were first unveiled in front of 18,700 spectators.
The 2nd-floor food and beverage area has undergone a complete renovation. The existing stores were expanded and moved, with representative Suwon restaurants, including Bon Suwon Galbi and Today's Sushi, which appeared on Culinary Class Wars, added to create a Suwon food street. Fans can now enjoy high-quality galbi and sushi, previously available only at popular eateries. Furthermore, a collaboration with the famous dessert cafe "Gaewool" in Suwon's Haenggung-dong will sell premium sandwich desserts.
In response to the surge in demand for merchandise, KT has expanded the team store and newly opened a custom store called the Wappen Shop. External relocation of the marking zone and away merchandise store has secured additional space, and the new Wappen Shop on the second floor will provide fans with a unique experience.
A KT official noted, "We devoted a lot of time to the off-season home stadium improvement project based on the fan-first spirit. We will continue to make efforts to create a comfortable viewing environment for fans in the future."
