On the afternoon of the 23rd at 2 p.m., nine matches of the 2025 Hana Bank Korea Cup second round, day three, were held at nine venues nationwide. Following the games on the 22nd, where five out of six matches ended in victories for lower league teams, a surprising event occurred again as lower league teams defeated upper league teams.
K4 League's Pyeongchang United won 3-0 against Gyeongnam FC (K League 2) with goals from Jeong Seong-jun, Park Yo-han, and Lee Jae-yong. In the 'Busan Derby', which garnered much fan interest, K3 Busan Transportation Corporation defeated K League 2’s Busan IPark 2-1. Busan Transportation Corporation allowed an early goal in the first half but turned the game around with two goals from Park Hee-soo in the second half. With this victory, they avenged their 0-3 loss in the FA Cup nine years ago.
In the remaining matchups between upper and lower league teams, all upper league teams emerged victorious.
K League 2's Ansan Greeners and Bucheon FC recorded wins of 3-1 against Pyeongtaek Citizens (K4) and Yeoju FC (K3) respectively. Incheon United (K League 2) defeated Chuncheon Citizens Football Club (K3) 3-0, and Cheonan City FC (K League 2) also won 1-0 against Pocheon Citizens Football Club (K3).
Hwaseong FC (K League 2) faced difficulty against Jinju Citizens Football Club (K4), going into extra time but secured a 1-0 victory, maintaining the pride of professional clubs. Gimhae FC (K3) overwhelmed Geoje Citizens Football Club (K4) with four goals in extra time, winning 5-1.
The only K3 matchup of the day between Gyeongju Hansuwon and Paju Citizens Football Club ended with a dominant 4-1 victory for the home team, Gyeongju Hansuwon.
Meanwhile, the third round is set to be held on April 16. A total of 24 teams will participate in the third round, comprising the 16 teams that won in the second round and the 8 K League 1 teams that will not compete in the 2025-2026 season of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League.
