SSG Landers staged a thrilling comeback in their opening match.

SSG secured a 6-5 comeback victory against the Doosan Bears in the regular season opener of the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League held at Incheon SSG Landers Field on March 22. With 23,000 spectators watching, there was no more exhilarating win than this.

On March 22, 2025, the long-awaited opening match of the KBO League took place at Incheon SSG Landers Field, marking a record of selling out for three consecutive years, kicking off a lengthy six-month season.

To commemorate the opening of the 2025 KBO League, SSG Landers prepared a special event. Before the game began, singer and actor Choi Min-ho took the mound, capturing the audience's attention. His powerful first pitch served as a signal for the start of the game, and the stadium was filled with cheers and excitement.

In the early stages of the game, SSG seized the momentum by scoring first against Doosan's starting pitcher, Cole Irvin. In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Irvin struggled with his control as SSG’s Lee Ji-young and Park Seong-han each were hit by pitches, leading to consecutive RBIs from Hah Jae-hoon and Ko Myung-jun, raising the score by three runs. However, Doosan did not back down easily. They turned the game around quickly with contributions from Kim Jae-hwan and Kim Min-seok, leading 4-3 by the end of the 3rd and 4th innings.

Doosan's lead did not last long. In the bottom of the 5th inning, SSG tied the game again, and both teams deployed their bullpens for a fierce battle.
