Thierry Henry (48) was unexpectedly caught up in a goal celebration during the broadcast.

Henry provided live commentary on the North and Central American Football Confederation (CONCACAF) Nations League A semifinal match between the United States and Panama held at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, California, on the 21st (Korean time).

In the match, Panama secured a 1-0 victory with a dramatic winning goal by Cecilio Waterman during stoppage time in the second half. Waterman struck with a right-footed shot from the right penalty area, precisely targeting the left corner of the United States' goal.

This marked the first time Panama reached the final stage in the tournament's history. This is the first occurrence since the 2019-2020 season began. Panama will face Mexico, who defeated Canada 1-0 in the final, on the 24th for the championship.

The notable scene occurred immediately after the winning goal. Waterman, during the celebration, took off his shirt and leapt over the advertising board before running straight to the commentary booth where Henry was located.

In the sudden situation, Henry's eyes widened in surprise. Clint Dempsey, a former U.S. national team forward who was with him, also couldn't hide his astonishment.

Waterman approached Henry and shouted loudly in Spanish, and Henry initially looked tense before bursting into laughter. He then joined the Panama players to enjoy the moment.

According to CBS Sports, Waterman repeatedly shouted at Henry, "You were my idol," and planted kisses on his face. After the match, he met Henry again and said, "Last night, someone asked me who my childhood idol was, and I answered, you," adding, "I decided that I had to greet you after scoring a goal."

He also shared his thoughts in an interview with ESPN, saying, "I've had many good things in my career, but this was special. It was an unbelievable moment."
